Shaping a new and different path for systemic change

Portland, Ore—September 22, 2017—Chalkboard Project thanks Governor Brown, the Council on Educator Advancement, and Oregon legislators for the courage and willingness to build a new and different way of supporting educators.

Senate Bill 182 illuminates an innovative path forward to ensure our educators have the ongoing and relevant support they need to be successful in the classroom and to meet the needs of every student, today and beyond. It ushers in a more nimble, open, equitable, and efficient delivery of professional learning, and a better bridge between the state and classroom. It elevates the educator voice and lifts up the teaching profession.

Chalkboard is encouraged by this opportunity and stands ready to partner with the Governor and others to shape an educator-led conversation about the needs of the profession, and help design a system that better leverages our limited resources for maximum impact.
